The Lowey Hija & Friends Group Piano Program introduces children to music in a creative fun way.

The Lowey Hija piano program introduces our innovative teaching method, encouraging young children to develop musical gifts and academic skills. Our fun and nurturing approach to teaching piano will keep your young toddler excited about learning different musical instruments, keyboard skills, note reading, ear training, and rhythm understanding through the usage of storytelling, puppetry, innovative games, singing, and body movement. This progressive 45-minute piano program consists of four age-based books and audio songs. We maintain small piano class sizes and require a parent or guardian to participate.

These 45-minute piano classes are specifically designed to help toddlers develop essential music and social development skills while fostering their love for music. The group classes incorporate interactive games, body movement, keyboard playing, ear training, singing, and social activities. Parents and guardians are encouraged to participate in every class to provide support and encouragement throughout their child’s musical journey.

Lowey Hija Book 2 Piano Classes for ages 2 to 3 years old

These 45-minute age-based group piano classes aim to develop music note reading and listening skills in a social and interactive environment. Weekly activities involve toddlers engaging with their parents to enhance musical abilities, focusing on note reading, rhythm through ear training, and simple song patterns. The results include improved focus, finger dexterity, and most importantly, a fun learning experience!

Lowey Hija & Friends Book 2 Goup Piano Classes

Typically for ages 3 to 4 years old

Lowey Hija Book 3 is the final program in our Lowey Hija series, designed for older toddlers preparing for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) or Kindergarten. It focuses on developing music skills such as note reading, keyboard playing, and basic rhythmic patterns. Through interactive games, body movement, ear training, singing, and social engagement, toddlers will enhance their music concepts. We encourage parents and guardians to participate in each class to support their child’s musical journey.

Goals for book 2:

  • Explores the early stages of note reading
  • Introduces basic rhythmic patterns
  • Introduces pattern sequencing

Lowey Hija & Friends Book 3 Music Classes

Music Classes for ages 4 to 5 years old

These classes prepare your young child in ear training skills, focusing skills, body awareness, finger dexterity, and pattern recognition. Note reading, hand-eye coordination, and note placement on the staff are the main objectives of this class. The goal for this class is for students to read and play simple songs using Do, Re, and Mi. The foundation built in the Lowey Hija program prepares students for the next program, “Music Tales” that involves more advanced keyboard skills.

Goals for book 3:

  • Advances students in note reading and playing through simple music phrases
  • Introduction to music notation
  • Advanced ear training
  • More advanced finger exercises for keyboard playing
  • More advanced pattern sequencing using Do, Re, and Mi
  • More advanced music terms
  • Advances student’s recognition of instruments in the orchestra

After the Lowey Hija book 3, students are prepared for the “Music Tales” kindergarten program.
