(Typically for ages 6 to 8 years old)

School age beginners take an interesting journey into learning fundamental music in a fun setting with Roofuss, who may look like your average first grader, but don't be fooled; he's nothing short of a hero. This three-semester program will both educate and entertain your child. Where expressive singing and rythmic notation is taught, while emphasizing on ear training and keyboard playing. Storytelling, games, percussion string instruments and upbeat arrangements help keep this class exciting.

PPMS uniquely designed Layered Learning Environment (LLE)® process continues to aid school age music makers in further development of:

  • exercising abstract thinking
  • self monitoring
  • group cooperation
  • expanding imagination

A 4-to-5 octave touch sensitive keyboard or piano is required for all students entering this course for home use. This allows the student to practice the skills learned in class for a minimum of 7-15 minutes, 3-4 times a week to achieve the most out of the program. Classes meet once a week for 50-60 minutes. Parents are encouraged to attend this class with students.

Roofuss Reports 1
This beginner's keybord course is designed to peak the interest of school age children interested in the piano. Students will meet Roofuss, an imaginative 1st grader and learn keyboard basics through his songs. Students will be able to read in the treble and bass clefs and eventually learn to play with two hands by the end of the semester. Ear training, rhythmic notation and music theory are taught each week in innovative ways.
